DoH queries use standard HTTPS on port 443, making them indistinguishable from regular web traffic. For URL shortening services, DoH affects DNS resolution performance and observability. When users resolve short link domains through DoH, traditional DNS-based analytics and geographic routing become less reliable. Services must adapt their infrastructure to maintain performance while respecting the privacy benefits that DoH provides to end users.
